The event being held will be a Wiffle Ball Tournament. The 1st pitch will be thrown at 11:00 AM. As all team members are fully aware, fundraisers have the potential to substantially defray the costs associated with playing in the AIHL this season. Players are not only urged to attent the event but also to recruit as many outside team and/or players as possible. The more money raised through this event will result in more money being deducted from your players fees. The format for the tournament is as follows: Cost: $75 per team. Entry fees must be paid in full prior to the beginning of the tournament. Cash, check, or credit cards are acceptable forms of payment. Game Play: Games will consist of 3 innings. There are 3 outs per team per inning. A batter can not walk. A single swing and a miss or a single pitch landing in the strike zone will result in an out. Players are not required to run. The results of a hit will be determined by ground rules, which will be explained to teams prior to the tournament. All teams will participate in round robin play and will be seeded accordingly entering the playoff round. Tiebreakers to determine final round robin standings will be in this order; #1 Head to head, #2 Runs against, #3 Runs scored, #4 Coin flip. Runners must be forced around the bases. There is no mercy rule! Score as much and as offten as you can. Pitching Rules: This will be a lob pitch tournament! A pitch exceeding a speed beyond what is considered a "lob" agreed on by both teams will not count. Tournament directors reserve the right to intervene and enforce the lob rule. A strike zone conforming to official Wiffle Ball Rules will be used. A pitch striking any part of the rectangular strike zone will be considered a strike. A pitch striking any part of the base or support of the strike zone is not a strike. A pitch either tipped or fouled off by the batter that ultimately makes contact with the strike zone while still in the air will be considered an out. Rosters: Teams will consist of 3 players each and can be positioned in any way the teams deem necessary. Teams can enter together or the tournament directors will place individuals on teams in need of players to round out their rosters. Prizes: Prizes will be handed out at the conclusion of the tournament. T-shirts will be presented to the champions and a still to be determined prize will be awarded to the runners-up.
